Kill the Company: An Experiential Strategy Exercise
Ascent’s latest strategy workshop, Kill the Company, offers a unique group-level strategy experience
We have been hard at work refining some deeply effective, highly interactive new formats for our offsite clients. One key example that we recently ran for a $1 billion digital commerce client is our Kill the Company (see www.killtheco.com) simulation. KtC is an experiential group exercise focused on creating fictional, formidable competitors for clients' businesses. By co-designing a set of well capitalized, technology enabled, deeply talented companies in incumbent companies’ competitive space, the exercise prompts corporate teams to not only stretch their conception of the possible but react to the forces shaping their clients & markets.
The exercise unfolds for participants in three stages:

(1) CONCEIVE & STRATEGIZE: Imagine your most fearsome competitors, unconstrained by the limits placed on today's incumbents. Design their marketing and growth strategies, including their go-to-market approaches and value propositions.
(2) SHARPEN & SCALE: Shape their expansion strategies, how they capture the imaginations and loyalty of their customers, investors & other stakeholders. Find the sources of value creation that resonate most with key consumers.
(3) REINVENT & REFOCUS: Redesign your current firm to effectively respond to these challengers. Re-imagine how your company thrives in this future environment.
